Trains, trams and books

The great thing about travelling to work by public transport is the opportunity to read. At the moment I'm reading a biography of C. S. Lewis written by his stepson, Douglas Gresham. It's title is 'Jack's Life: the Life Story of C. S. Lewis'. It is written like a novel and with affection. It is clear that Douglas Gresham truly loved C. S. Lewis and had listened to C. S. Lewis tell stories of his childhood.
My father, my siblings and my nieces all love the Narnia chronicles and I'm sure that they will love this book. Christmas shopping should be easy just order a few copies of this book.
One interesting item of trivia, did you know that C. S. Lewis died the day Kennedy was assassinated?
The other great thing about using public transport is observing what the other passengers are reading and whether they are buying books or borrowing them from public libraries. Every now and then I'm tempted to comment on a book I see another reading and a start a discussion on how much we have or have not enjoyed the book.
